Stay at home with Otter Homecare physical disabilities care

Otter Homecare is committed to helping clients be as active as possible in the comfort of their home.

There is a variety of types of physical disabilities which may be the result of accident, old age, a learning disability or a health condition such as arthritis, stroke or dementia.

While there is likely to be some detrimental effect on a person’s mobility, with the right care team in place, the client can continue to enjoy living in the comfort of their own home rather than having to move to a care home.

Otter Homecare is dedicated to providing you a personalised care service specifically tailored to your needs.

We have experience of working with Occupational Therapists and other healthcare professionals to identify what mobility aids might be best suited to help you in your circumstances. Our professional care team have received detailed training to utilise a variety of aids and equipment including:

Manual handling aids

Positioning aids to help move people whether they are seated or in bed.

Standing transfer aids

Stand aids can help to safely assist in transfers between bed, chair and toilet.

Adjustable beds

For those who need to spend much of their time in bed, our carers are experienced in adjusting the beds so that they are in a good position for watching TV or during a bed wash.

Stair lifts

Our carers are well trained on the safe operation of stair lifts.

Hoists

Upon the advice of an Occupational Therapist our carers may use hoists to facilitate transferring.
